What's the best part about working in a library?
The best part of my job is rediscovering and reconnecting with historic collections deep in the archives. I have the opportunity to work with amazing artifacts which people haven't seen or held in over 70 years.
What's your favorite book? What book character would you most like to be?
Definitely “Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.” Every new country I travel to, I try to buy a copy of the book in the native language. So far, I’ve grabbed 5 but still looking for a few more for my shelf. I’d probably most like to be Zaphod Beeblebrox, since he is the President of The Galaxy.
If you could have tea with someone dead or alive, who would it be?
I’d like to have tea with Weird Al Yankovic. I’ve been a huge fan of his music since I was a young kid, and my family used to listen to his music on the Dr. Demento Show on Sunday mornings. Plus, he seems to be a genuinely cool dude.
What's something people don't know about you that might surprise them?
I’m an Eagle Scout from Troop 102, Ventura, CA.
What's one thing you wish college students knew about using a library?
Researching isn’t as intimidating as it looks. There are TONs of amazing, easy to use resources at your fingertips. Sometimes, it helps to just ask a Librarian!
