Love Data Week, celebrated annually in February, is an international event designed to inspire curiosity and raise awareness about data. Established in 2016 by academic data librarians, the week-long celebration highlights the importance of data management, sharing, preservation, and ethical use across disciplines.
The 2025 theme is “Whose Data Is It, Anyway?” This theme gives researchers and users the opportunity to explore the many facets of ownership of "data" broadly defined. From social media posts to data collected as part of intensive research study, it is important to be able to contextualize and situate ownership within the data.
