  2. You'll be prompted to enter your XULA login credentials to get full access.
  3. You may want to create an account for ChemNetBase to save your searches.

Step 2: Choose a Database in ChemNetBase

ChemNetBase includes multiple specialized databases. Select the most relevant one:

  • Combined Chemical Dictionary (CCD) – For detailed compound information.
  • CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics – For physical and chemical property data.
  • Dictionary of Organic Compounds – For organic chemistry references.
  • Dictionary of Inorganic and Organometallic Compounds – For inorganic and metal-containing compounds.

Step 3: Conduct a Search

  1. Use the Search Bar: Enter a chemical name, CAS Registry Number, molecular formula, or InChI key.
  2. Refine Your Search: Use filters like substance type, data fields, or reference sources to narrow results.
  3. Explore Structure Search (if available): Some databases allow drawing or uploading a molecular structure to find related compounds.

Step 4: Review Search Results

  1. Click on a chemical entry to view detailed information.
  2. Check data fields such as melting point, boiling point, density, solubility, spectra, and safety information.
  3. If needed, use the citation tool to reference the data properly.

Step 5: Export or Save Information

  • Download Data: Some records allow PDF or text file downloads.
  • Copy the Citation: Use citation management tools like Citavi
