English Literature

Overview

In an English Literature class, the most common format for learning is for the class to read certain texts (novels, poems, short stories) together and spend time analyzing them in various ways in class. Then, it’s the student’s turn to take the next step by writing a paper analyzing one or more texts from their own mind. Of course, the student’s ideas must be supported by outside sources, like books and peer reviewed journal articles. This English Literature Guide hopes to assist you in this process.
