Liz Johns is an educator, librarian, and information professional focused on teaching and learning in higher education. As a librarian at Xavier, she supports students in developing information literacy dispositions and encourages librarians in creating and using innovative teaching practices for concept-based learning.

Previously she was the Teaching and Learning Librarian at Goucher College, Education Librarian and the Learning Design and Technologies Librarian at Johns Hopkins University, and a Teaching and Learning Librarian at Virginia Commonwealth University. Johns’ teaching and research demonstrates her commitment to creating engaging, dynamic, and meaningful learning environments in both face-to-face and online settings for adult learners.

Her dissertation research is focused on professional learning and librarian educator identity in higher education contexts.

Additionally, Johns is the Assistant Editor for Reference Services Review and is the National Archivist for Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.
