Sneak Peek: New Integrated Library System (ILS) Coming Next Month

by University Library on 2022-04-20T15:11:00-05:00 in News | 0 Comments

New catalog coming May 10thStarting Monday April 25 through May 9th, XULA Library will begin the ILS migration process from SirsiDynix Symphony to Ex Libris Alma. For students, faculty, and staff, the most noticeable aspect of the change encompasses a new look to the public catalog and account management portal. The catalog and account management portal, currently utilizing the SirsiDynix Enterprise discovery tool, will utilize the Ex Libris Primo VE discovery service when new services go live on May 10, 2022.

Ex Libris Alma and Primo VE, recently acquired by Clarivate, are leading academic library integrated library system and discovery services. University Library users will notice a simplified modern interface and new features such as voice search, QR code links, and tags. The best news of all is that Primo VE is single sign-on (SSO) friendly, so users will be able to authenticate for account management and digital library resource access with their MyXULA account information.

Students, faculty, and staff can expect a break in online account management from Friday, May 6th through Monday, May 9th. Physical materials will still be circulated within the library.
