Library Faculty Nancy Hampton and Sarah Hernandez have been elected to the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Acquisition and Collection Development Section and Information Literacy Section respectively.
IFLA is the leading international body representing the interests of library and information services and their users, and the global voice of the library and information profession. The Acquisition and Collection Development Section is focused on methodological and topical themes pertaining to the acquisition of print and other analog library materials (by purchase, exchange, gift, legal deposit), and the licensing and purchase of electronic information resources. The primary purpose of the Information Literacy Section is to foster international cooperation in the development of information literacy education in all types of libraries and information institutions.
As members of their respective sections, Nancy and Sarah will work with other library professionals across sectors and the world, to implement activities to inspire, engage, and enable the library field. Congratulations to both! #XULAProud
