Xavier University of Louisiana Library

Archives & Special Collections

The Xavier University Archives and Special Collections creates unique collections of original materials and preserves them for use on campus.  In support of Xavier University of Louisiana’s mission “to contribute to the promotion of a more just and humane society,” we collect personal stories in a wide range of formats, with a focus on African Americans, Black Catholics, New Orleans, Louisiana and the Gulf Coast Region.  Our finding aids and instructional services provide an entry to discover our holdings. We invite students, scholars, and the general public to explore the Gulf Coast Region through our unique collections.
